Catastrophic Events

The 2003 Geodynamics Seminar topic is catastrophic events on Earth. Invited speakers include
experts on meteor impacts and their influence of global ecology, earthquake nucleation and
dynamics, the mechanics of landslides and volcanic eruptions, the physics of hurricanes and the
impacts of large hurricanes on coastal regions.
This year the field trip will be to the Cascades in the western United States.
